When it comes to dining in Newry, The Shelbourne stands out as an Irish gem that beautifully marries tradition with culinary delight. Nestled at 69 Hill Street, this inviting eatery promises a memorable experience with its vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service. Customers rave about the Battered Cod and Chicken Curry, both of which have garnered praise for their flavors and generosity. The festive offerings, like the Christmas pudding, have also enchanted diners, making it a must-try during the holiday season. The selection doesn’t stop at savory dishes; the cafe is renowned for its mouthwatering cakes, which have caught the attention of patrons like Fiona McCann. With a delightful array of dips and sauces—from Garlic Mayo to Curry—each dish is elevated, catering to a range of tastes. The Shelbourne’s charm lies not only in its food but also in its ambiance, aptly described by Damião O’Deoraín as beautifully decorated and filled with exceptional artwork. Each visit feels personal, thanks to the attentive, friendly staff. Whether you're stopping for a tea and scone or a full meal, The Shelbourne is a culinary retreat well worth exploring. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors alike!

A must stop eatery when in Newry, in a very well known traditional bakery serving excellent food and pastries! Beautifully decorated and tastefully fitted out, a great atmosphere and with exceptional artwork that I would covet! Staff are lovely and really know how to look after their customers! Highly recommended!
